Part 1 Color-- BLACK HISTORY As Told By the Prophets of the Bible

Updated on February 7, 2012

The month of February has been designated Black History Month. The world tell us that Black History Month is set aside to recognize the contributions that black people have made to this country and to the world.

When we talk about the contributors, we name people like Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, Jean Baptist Point Du Sable, Paul Lawrence Dumber, W.E.B. Duboise, Sojourner Truth and a host of others that have been recognized in the month of February.

What we want to point out to our readers is that every people on the planet are called after a country on a continent. For example, Mexicans are from Mexico. Chinese are from China. Sudanese are from Sudan. Nigerian origin is from the country on the African continent called Niger.

When it comes down to Black-Americans or African-Americans, we are referred to as just black folks. Each group of people has their own country. Where is the country called black on the continent of Africa? We say we are African-Americans, but were in African did we come from. Africa is a big continent with 47 countries on the continent, and counting the African Islands the total is 53. Which one is your origin? You can’t just go back to your native land while there are tribal wars and ethic cleansing taking place in Africa. Even black on black crime in Africa is on a higher scale of destruction and is far worse than we would ever imagine it to be in our own black communities.

Furthermore, we have a history that has not been told to us. Our mothers, our fathers, teachers, and our pastors have not shown us how our ancestors proliferated and was sold throughout the Mediterranean lands of Asia and Africa and settled here in a land called America, which is not our own. Let the truth be told to All That have an ear to hear. Your history is no longer a mystery.

What we would like to do is take you on a journey in Black History told by the prophets according to the bible. This will be a six week series and we ask that you follow along with us and consider the whole matter of the content. Part 1 through part 6 is as follows: Color, Slavery, Spiritual Death and Resurrection, The Priest of God, The Adoption, When we Were Kings.

Our purpose for part 1: color, is to identify a race of people called black. Therefore, enjoy the readings.

In Genesis 9: 18-19 Noah three sons Shem, Ham and Japheth overspread the whole earth. There are only three real races of people on the face of the earth. Either you’re a Hamite out of Ham’s lineage or a Gentile out of Japheth’s children, or Semitic out of Shem’s children. Genesis chapter 10 will divide the three races of people by their lands, tongue, and families in their nations. Noah sons began to multiply after the flood.

We will identify a black people throughout the bible starting with Noah son Shem. In Genesis chapter 11 we have read that Shem begot Arphaxad and Arphaxad begot Salah, and Salah begot Ebor, and Ebor begot Peleg. Rue was the son of Peleg and Rue begot Serug. Serug begot Nahor. Nahor begat Terah. Terah begat Abram and Haran, and Haran begot Lot. Abram and Lot are descendents of Shem.

The Abram which is in the lineage is the same Abraham whom name was changed by God in Genesis 17: 5. Moreover, we all remember Lot Abraham’s nephew. Remember when Abraham rescued Lot from the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 14). Remember Lot’s wife turning into a pillar of salt.

When we continue to read on we notice in Genesis chapter 12: 5 Abram and his household went to live in the land of Canaan. The Land was named after a son of Ham according to Genesis 10: 6. Ham is your present day Africans. You can pick up Hams son sons in Genesis verse 13-20. When you do your research on the names of Ham’s sons and you will discover they are of black decent like Shem sons. These two groups are not in the same lineage or bloodline. Evidently, the history we will show you will identify Abraham’s sons similarities with Ham’s sons. Both sources – history and the bible will clearly show our purpose identifying a people of color.

The lineage of Abraham continues with sons of his own in Genesis 25. Starting at verse 19-26 we have read that Abraham begat Isaac. Isaac took Rebekah to wife and she conceived Esau and Jacob. Jacob is our focus at this time. The lineage continued with Jacob and his seed in Genesis chapter 29. In Genesis 29: 31-35, Jacob had four sons by Leah. Those sons were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah. Jacob also had sons by Bilhah in Genesis 30. Those sons were Dan and Naphtali. Jacob also had two other sons by Zilpah and there names were Gad and Asher. Jacob had two more sons by Leah and their names were Issachar and Zebulun. In verse 22-24 of Genesis 30 Rachel conceived and had a son by Jacob, and called his name Joseph. In Genesis 35: 16-18 Rachel bared another son by Jacob and called his name Benjamin.

In Genesis 32: 24-28 we have read that Jacob’s name was changed to Israel. If you have ever heard of the twelve tribes of Israel the bible is referring to the twelve sons of Jacob. The Semitic lineage continues with the identity of a black people in which we will show you the diverse trials Joseph suffered through. Joseph brothers rose up against him out of jealousy because Jacob favored Joseph more than the rest of his brothers. Rueben, Joseph brother, stood up on Joseph behalf and said, “let us not kill him”. And they sold Joseph to the Medians and the Medians sold him to the Egyptians and Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt (read Gen. 37).

While Joseph was a servant to Pharaoh, Pharaoh had a dream regarding 7 lean cows and 7 fat cows (Gen. 41). Joseph interpreted the dream for Pharaoh and it was good in the eyes of Pharaoh. And Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh made him governor over Egypt because of his wisdom and because the spirit of God was with Joseph (Gen 41: 37-46). Concerning the dream Pharaoh had which Joseph interpreted was about a famine all across the land except Egypt. The entire known world at the time had to go down in Egypt to buy food. Therefore, Israel whom is Jacob, sent his sons to Egypt to buy corn. Ten brothers went to Egypt. You ask why ten? Because Joseph is in Egypt already and Benjamin stayed home.

In Genesis 42: 6-8 Joseph brothers came to buy corn and Joseph saw his brothers and he spoke rough to them, but they did not recognize Joseph. Joseph knew his brothers but they did not know him. Joseph spoke by way of an interpreter to his brothers (v.23). Joseph is given his brothers a hard time but eventually Joseph broke down and reveal himself. Joseph never had to disguise his facial features; he just wore Egyptian clothes and spoke in an Egyptian language. Joseph was not old of age when his brothers could not recognize him because his brothers sold him when he was 17 years old (Gen. 37: 2), and Joseph eventually became governor at age 30.

In Genesis 45 Joseph could not refrain himself from being revealed to his brothers; and he cried. In verse 3 he ask his brothers was his father still alive and his brothers did not answer and they were troubled at his presence. Joseph looked like an Egyptian, he even choose to talk to them in the Egyptian tongue, but Joseph was not an Egyptian, he was an Israelite.

Let’s refresh a few things. Joseph is the second ruler in Egypt and Israel sent his ten brothers down to buy corn and they thought they are bowing down to an Egyptian. When you do your history research, you will discover that the original Egyptians were dark skin people of color. At this present time you have Arabians dwelling in the land of Egypt which are not the true Egyptians. Stick around with us for February 2009 Black History, and we will show you via live webcast the identity of a race of people called black through pictorials and documented facts.

Another situation we would like to identify is when Israel died and Joseph and the children of Israel went from Egypt back to the land of Canaan (Gen. 50: 5-11). The Canaanites called the Israelites Egyptians. (v11) “ And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians”. We have researched that the Egyptians are descendants of Ham’s lineage and the Israelites are descendents of Shem’s lineage. The two groups of people are not of the same blood line but look a lot like each other. Furthermore, did you know Egypt means black, also Egypt is Mizraim, one of Ham’s sons? Israel and his entire household are Israelites that look like the Egyptians.

If the people in the land of present day Israel are being accepted as “the Jews” by the world, then the so called Jews should be looking like the Egyptians; because being a Jew you are an Israelite which looks like Egyptians. But, the so called Jews have long beards, big black hats and black suits and white faces, which we will discuss in this series they really are descendents of Esau (Hebrew Edomites), Jacob’s brother ( Gen. 25: 25). Moreover, to be a Jew you would have to be one of the sons of Judah, because Jew is short for Judah. Nowhere in History or biblically can you find “The so called Jews” being sons of Judah, but you can find the real sons of Judah (Gen. 46: 12/1Chr. 4:1).

Let’s search out the lineage of Moses and see if his nationality could identify with a people of color. We have read that Levi was the 3rd son born to Israel and Levi is one of the twelve tribes of Israel, or the 3rd son of Jacob, and out of Levi seed came Moses according to Exodus 2: 1-10 and Exodus 6: 16-20. Therefore, Moses is a Hebrew Israelite. Let’s read how God identified Moses with a people of color.

In Exodus chapter 1 the Israelites multiplied and grew and a new pharaoh rose up and commanded that all the Hebrew sons born, to be killed. The wife who conceived and had Moses hid him in a basket and floated Moses down the river (Ex. 2). And Pharaoh’s daughter found Moses and called him here own. Can you imagine Moses as a grandson being raised in the house of Pharaoh, who commanded all Hebrew sons be killed? Moses probably sat on Pharaoh’s lap many times. How can this possibly happen if the Israelites did not resemble the Egyptians. But, there is more that is written about Moses.

Moses was commissioned to lead God’s people out of Egypt but Moses did not want to do this. Therefore, God had to convince Moses. In Exodus 4: 6-7 the Lord turn Moses hand into leprous and his hand was white as snow. It would not be any difference if Moses was already a white-skinned man. Moreover, the Lord turned his hand back to his own flesh. This is the same Moses that was raised in Pharaohs house. Who would you identify Moses nationally to be identical with?

Let’s examine another Israelite of color, Jesus. To be a true Jew you have to be out of the tribe of Judah. During the time of Jesus birth Herod wanted to know where was this king of the Jews which was born in Bethlehem of Judea. Herod actually wanted to know where was baby Jesus so he can kill him. An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt because Herod desires to kill the young child (Matt. 2). Now, if the “so called Jews” in the present day land of Israel look like Jesus that Michael Angelo painted a picture of, then how can you hid Joseph, Mary or Jesus, who are Israelites, down in Egypt without sticking out like a sore thumb. They must have looked like the Egyptians. You can not find a needle in a haystack. Therefore, God knew what He was doing; hiding a people similar to a people.

We are identifying the children of Israel right before your eye and ears. All it takes is reasoning, considering a matter of facts and a little understanding. Jesus was a Jew, Moses was a Levite, Samson was a Danite and now we will show you Paul who the world believes was a Gentile. The Gentiles are Japheth which we discussed earlier. Paul was also mistaken for an Egyptian. In Acts 21: 37-38 the chief captain thought Paul to be an Egyptian but the Christian world today says Paul was a Gentile. In verse 39 Paul told the chief captain he was a Jew of Tarsus, a city of Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city. The chief captain mistaken Paul for and Egyptian because the iraelites and the Egyptians look the same.

What we have done in this article is identified the true Israelites of the bible according to the scriptures. We must understand that the true history of Israel lies in the pages of the bible and to understand this you must read and become aware. Nevertheless, it will take pictorial research of the Egyptians, the Hamites and the Ethiopians to see the similitude of the children of Israel. Yet, the question lies within yourself. Who are you and where are you from?

Are you an Egyptian from Egypt? Are you a Sudanese from Sudan? Are you an Algerian from Algeria? Are you an Rwandan from Rwanda? Are you an Angolan from Angola? Are you an Ethiopian from Ethiopia? Your challenge has just been presented to you for higher learning. Figure out who you are because in Amos 9: 7 the Lord compared His people (the Israelites) to the Ethiopians. Amos 9: 7 “Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt?” When you go into the Song of Solomon 1: 5 you will understand soon enough this is not a love song between Solomon and a woman, this is a story between God and His people.

Song of Songs 1:5 “I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. 6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.” in Isaiah 5: 7 the keeper of the vineyards is Jesus. Isaiah 5:7 “For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant” therefore, Jesus is an Israelite from the tribe of Judah

Psalms 105:8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. 9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: 42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people; 45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
